Biography

Ashar is Group CEO of Aion Digital. Formerly, he was a senior partner at Ernst & Young and global head of Islamic banking practice.

Ashar is engaged in the build out of the fintech ecosystem in MENA, advising several Islamic banks on structuring and implementation of fintech solutions. Over past 20 years, he has helped in the operational buildout of more than 30 Islamic financial institutions and national level programs.

Last year, Ashar won the MEA Finance Award for “Best Technology Leadership” in his role as Founder and CEO of Aion Digital.
